Utay didn't start with a plan to build software. It started with a pattern we kept noticing across small and mid-sized businesses in Gujarat.

Doctors managing appointments on paper registers, restaurant owners losing orders in a flood of WhatsApp messages, retailers tracking inventory in three different notebooks, and founders spending more time on operations than on the thing they actually set out to build.

Every one of these businesses had already tried "getting online" — a website here, an app there — usually built by an agency that delivered the file, sent the invoice, and moved on to the next client. The website looked fine. It just didn't solve anything. Nobody had stopped to ask what was actually slowing the business down.

That gap is why Utay exists. Not to add one more vendor to a business owner's list of people to manage, but to be the technology partner that starts with the problem, not the product. Whether that means a booking system, a WhatsApp automation flow, or a full custom platform, the starting question is always the same: what is actually costing this business time, money, or customers — and what's the simplest system that fixes it?

We named the company Utay for exactly that reason — a business's growth shouldn't get stuck as just "systems" on paper. It should turn into real operational relief, real time back, and real growth. That's the standard every project here is held to.

Hi, I'm Nil Prajapati, the founder of Utay.

Before starting this company, I spent time studying how small and mid-sized businesses actually operate — not how they're supposed to run, but how they really run day to day. And the pattern was almost always the same: orders tracked over WhatsApp, inventory managed in an Excel sheet, appointments written in a register.

That's not a mistake — it's how most businesses start. But it comes at a real cost. When a founder is buried in daily operations, there's no time left to think about where the business is actually headed. Growth stops being a priority, because just keeping things running takes up the whole day.

What these businesses need isn't more software for its own sake — it's a system. Something that automates the repetitive work, quietly tracks what's actually happening across the business, and uses that data — with AI — to help the business grow, not just survive.
